Two charged after car stolen in Bushey Heath

Police have arrested and charged two men after a car was stolen in Bushey Heath.

A Silver Hyundai i30 was reported stolen from the High Road on Wednesday 23 September. 

Officers quickly got to work and identified a vehicle which was believed to have been used in the theft.

On Friday (25 September), they tracked the suspect vehicle as it entered Hertfordshire.

The vehicle entered the McDonalds car park on the A41 (North Western Avenue) where officers stopped it and arrested the two occupants.

Anthony Stokes, aged 45, of St Hughes Avenue in High Wycombe, and William Stokes, aged 42, of Brook Walk in Edgware, have been charged with theft of a motor vehicle.

They will appear at St Albans Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 27 November.

The stolen vehicle, ending in registration CKJ, remains outstanding and anyone with information should get in touch with police, quoting crime reference 41/91835/26. It is believed to have been stolen between 7am and 7pm on Wednesday 23 September.
